POSITION: Part-time Grounds Crew Worker (3 openings)
SCHEDULE: Weekday Shift; Typically schedule is 9:00 AM - 3 PM but schedule may vary depending on department need. Weekend Shift: Varies
REPORTS TO: Head Groundskeeper/Asst. Head Groundskeeper
HOURLY RANGE: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Grounds Crew Worker assists in preparing and maintaining the UPMC Ballpark field and the campus grounds with such tasks as, but not limited to, mowing, edging, infield preparation, lining, sodding, replanting, warning track preparation, minor repairs to the structure and any other tasks as directed by the supervisor or his/her designee that ensures the proper condition of the ballpark as it relates to professional baseball standards. This is a part-time position starting in the spring and ending in the fall.

QUALIFICATIONS:

He/she must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays. He/she must be able to walk, climb, lift fifty pounds and have manual dexterity and motor coordination. He/she must pass a security/reference check. Landscaping experience and/or general mechanical ability is a plus.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for mowing, pruning, weeding and edging.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for raking and sweeping.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for applying clay.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for helping with minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical work.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for picking up debris.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for set up/tear down of batting practice equipment.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for field aerating.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for helping with painting.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for helping with equipment maintenance

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for assisting laying down and rolling up infield tarp.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for helping with watering and water removal.

• The Grounds Crew Worker is responsible for any other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
